Eighteen months after stepping down from his role as Global CEO, Matthew Charlesworth has officially re-entered the executive team at Imagine Live. Announcing the move via LinkedIn, Charlesworth confirmed his new position as Chief Development Officer (CDO), marking a full-time return to the company he once led.
Prior to this formal comeback, Charlesworth served as Live Casino Managing Director at Digitain for over a year. During that time, he also briefly resumed duties at Imagine Live, balancing a 10-month stint as acting Global CEO alongside his responsibilities at Digitain. Both roles concluded in February 2023, though Charlesworth revealed in his announcement that he had remained involved with Imagine Live in an informal capacity since then.
“A Role That Brings Me Back Full-Time”
In his public statement, Charlesworth expressed enthusiasm for his return, stating:
“Today, I’m excited to formally announce my return as Chief Development Officer – a role that brings me back full-time to the product I love and believe in as well as the people I love working with, but without the day-to-day responsibility of overseeing a rapidly expanding operation and still with extremely aggressive future plans. So just a few more airport lounges for me over the coming months but I’m looking forward to reconnecting with friends, partners, and future collaborators over the coming months.”
Backed by a résumé that includes high-level roles at Coral, bet365, Paddy Power, and Entain, Charlesworth is uniquely positioned to contribute to Imagine Live’s strategic development. His previous leadership as Global CEO and continued relationship with the company place him in an ideal position to guide expansion efforts and product innovation.
